About Our Organic Javanese Turmeric COS
Javanese Turmeric or Curcuma xanthorrhiza is known locally as ‘Temu Lawak’. This CO2 extract contains mainly sesquiterpenes – aryl-curcumene, szlig; curcumene and 15-25 % xanthorrhizol (hydroxy-aryl-curcumene) – and is soothing and calming. Efficacious against Staphylococcus mutans and other oral pathogens, it is a useful addition to oral care products. Studies have shown Turmeric rhizome’s liver protective qualities, while xanthorrhizol itself has been shown to have strong kidney protective and anti-tumor effects.
