CO2 Extract
A CO2 extract is made using pressurized carbon dioxide as a solvent instead of heat or hexane, pulling aromatic compounds from plant material at low temperatures. This gentler process often yields a scent closer to the fresh, raw plant, and produces two types: "select" (lighter, similar to essential oil) and "total" (richer, closer to an absolute), with no solvent residue left behind.
