About Our Myrrh Essential Oil

Myrrh resin has been used since antiquity for medicinal, ritual and spiritual purposes but Western science has confirmed the analgesic properties and effectiveness in reducing pain and inflammation of some of its key sesquiterpene components. Myrrh has also been found effective in the prevention of squalene peroxidation during sun exposure (1) as well as being anti-hyperglycemic (2). This Myrrh oil is produced by steam distillation of Myrrh resin in Somaliland.
