Neroli from Seville

This Neroli is from the groves of over 100 year-old Bitter Orange trees outside Seville, Spain, and is distilled by a long established supplier of Seville Oranges to producers of British Marmalade. We have carried the oil from these magnificent trees for over two decades. What sets this Neroli apart from other citrus flower specimens is a light note of fresh bread, typical for a Neroli from the more northern latitude of Seville. The fragrance is narcotic, floral, yet reassuring. The image above shows the famous La Giralda of Seville with the Patio de los Naranjos, or Orange Tree Courtyard, demonstrating the trees’ close association to the Seville cityscape.

Availability and prices: As prices for authentic Neroli from the prime regions of origin soared due to extremely small harvests in 2017, we were reluctant to purchase any, due to the astronomical price. Finally, in 2020 there was a let up in prices before they began to rise again due to the current economic conditions. The pricing of thsi oil refelcts the lower prices in place until a few months ago.
